Felica Colwood is a qualified Play Therapist and Founder of Darling Buds Of Play. She is taking her first steps to becoming a not for profit organisation. She shares her experience of how talking to a fundraising professional has helped her to plan her project and progress with fundraising ……..
‘Being self employed and going at it alone can be a worrying prospect. I had invested a lot of time and money into my work and my passion to help children find their own healing powers and inner voice but finding the clientele was daunting after my initial set up. I had a decision; to stay employed with regular work but not directly with my area of study and burning desire or to set up independently and follow this passion.
Gemma Kingsman has proved to be such an inspiration. She is totally dedicated and her subject knowledge is commendable. She has offered sound support during my process of moving away from employment and taking my project into my own hands and shaping it into my vision. Talking through ideas with Gemma is very easy as she knows what to take and add to construct it in a way that moves it forward. A lot of commitment is needed into making plans and turning these plans into actions but the support and framework is solid and it's so worth the fight.
I highly recommend following dreams and I personally have every faith in using the realist strategies that Gemma has provided. Good luck.’
